For a millennium no God has been seen 0n Ula.
In the past, there was 9 deities watching over a prosperous land, they rejoiced in their efforts and food was plentiful. One Goddess, however, held contempt for the others. She believed that the mortals deserved nothing without working for it.
The other Gods ignored her, and continued to grace the mortals with everything they could wish for. The Goddess was dismayed by the lack of respect, and the thought of the Gods and mortals living alike. She began to formulate a plan that would put the mortals in their place, and teach the Gods a lesson they would never forget.
The other Deities realised their mistake in letting the Goddess fly under the radar for so long, and attempted in banishing her before she could carry out her plan. Unfortunately, she succeeded.
The Goddess cast a curse upon the land. The gods could not step onto the land with their godly powers, and were not able to use their divine magic to assist the mortals.
The Goddess was banished, as she finished her curse. No one knows what became of her, but her counterpart god is said to have followed her away from the land.
Now, the mortals are slowly forgetting their history, and the tales are getting foggier each passing generation. No one knows what became of the gods, and how to break the curse.
Infact, everyone now believes that they were abandoned by their gods, thus they make semi-annual trips to the only remaining temples in the center of The Romban Desert with offerings for the gods.
